Memang PC di rumah terdapat OS Microsoft Window, dual boot dengan Ubuntu Linux.

Kenikmatan mempergunakan Ubuntu Linux tak terelakkan, sehingga selama 1 tahun ini bisa dibilang penggunaan Ubuntu Linux mencapai 80%. Dan hal-hal yang menjadikan kenikmatan itu adalah :

  • Boot amat lebih cepat dibandingkan Microsoft Windows.
  • Bebas virus sehingga tidak ada kekhawatiran file rusak bahkan hilang.
  • Masih bisa akses Folder NTFS Windows.
  • Mengakses Document Microsoft Office sangat gampang.
  • Jika harus pakai IE, dengan kombinasi Wine dan IES4Linux dari http://www.tatanka.com.br/, IE Scripting masih bisa jalan.
  • Tidak ada kekhawatiran beli lisensi, perpanjang lisensi dan lain-lain yang notabene perlu keluar uang.
  • Support ? Semua bisa terselesaikan berkat Open Source Community. No problemo at all.
  • Banyak lagi deh kalau mau diungkapkan.

Tidak ada salahnya mempergunakan Microsoft Windows, sepanjang OS (operating system) yang dipakai adalah legal. Artinya, OS tersebut kita beli sendiri dan kita pergunakan sendiri.

Pertanyaannya, jika yang kita pergunakan lisensi kantor, apakah masih dianggap halal jika dipakai di rumah.
Bagi saya, halal di kantor tapi haram di rumah.
